Summer is already upon us..
and with it comes a seemingly endless chance at adventure and fun. But you don’t have to travel halfway around the world to have a blast with your family. Check out these amazing Utah County city celebrations and activities that will be sure to keep your family busy all summer long!
Provo City
Freedom Days: July 3-6, 2019
Spanning the Fourth of July, Provo’s Freedom Days captures the fun and grandeur of several holiday celebrations all rolled into one. With everything from a hot air balloon festival to the Stadium of Fire and other concerts scattered throughout the summer, this is a celebration you’ll want to mark on your calendar. Some highlights include:
- A hot air balloon festival where pilots take to the air and compete in several aerial games. The balloons take flight on Thursday, July 4, through Saturday, July 6, from 6 to 8 a.m.
- The largest Fourth of July parade in Utah, starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, at 960 N. University Ave.
- The Freedom Days’ carnival, which runs from Wednesday, July 3, to Saturday, July 6, and features Texas Twister, delicious food, vendors, rides, and games.
- A Clog America show at University Place Mall Park on Wednesday, July 3, at 7:30 p.m.
- A Colonial Heritage Festival at Scera Park on Thursday, July 4, through Sunday, July 6, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This festival allows you to see colonial artisans, demonstrations, debates, public trials, storytelling, a replica of the Mayflower, and so much more.
- The 2019 Stadium of Fire featuring Keith Urban at the Lavell Edwards Stadium on July 4 at 8 p.m.

American Fork City
Steel Days: July 12-20, 2019
In addition to a week packed with family-friendly activities and fun, American Fork puts on a weekly summer concert series beginning June 4 with Joshua Creek and ending July 30 with the Kings of 88. (For more information about these performances, click here.) But the week of Steel Days has many highlights to look forward to, including:
- A BBQ cook off and car show beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, at Rotary Park.
- A discount swim day on Tuesday, July 16, followed by free Zumba and Yoga classes later that night.
- A three-day carnival beginning Thursday, July 18, through Saturday, July 20, at Art Dye Park.
- A family splash night (7 p.m. to 9 p.m.), city sing-off (7 p.m. to 9 p.m.), and movie in the park (at dusk) on Friday, July 19, at Art Dye Park.
- The Marching Band Breakfast on Saturday, July 20, from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. followed by a 5K/10K run beginning at the Fire Station at 7 a.m.
- The grand parade on Saturday, July 20, at 9:30 a.m. on Main Street followed by the Steel Days Fair at 5 p.m. at Art Dye Park and a show and fireworks beginning at 8:30.

Spanish Fork City
Fiesta Days: July 12-24, 2019
Spanish Fork’s Fiesta Days exhibit the best the city and its residents have to offer with fun activities and even its own Spanish Fork’s Got Talent contest. Here are a few activities to keep your eye on:
- A Spanish Fork’s Got Talent competition with a $300 prize on Tuesday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Liberty Stage in the city park.
- Three days of rodeo beginning Monday, July 22, and running through Wednesday, July 24, starting at 7 p.m. each night.
- A grand parade, the largest 24th of July parade in Utah County, that starts at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, and runs down Center Street and Main Street.
- A pool party beginning at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, along with an adopt-a-duck event that same afternoon at 2 p.m.
- A carnival that runs from Monday, July 22, to Wednesday, July 24, with fireworks and live entertainment following the final night.

Highland City
Highland Fling: July 27-August 3, 2019
The Highland Fling kicks off with a luau and wraps up the following Saturday after a week of parades, fireworks, family activities, and even authentic Scottish Highland games. Here are a few of the week’s notable events:
- A family-friendly movie at Heritage Park on Monday, July 29, as well as a youth night drive-in movie at Mountain Ridge on Friday, August 2.
- A disc-golf tournament on Monday, July 29, from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Beacon Hill Park and a horseshoe tournament on Thursday, August 1, at 6 p.m. at Heritage Park.
- A Kids Night with bike races, rocket launches, face painting, and more on Wednesday, July 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Center Splash Pad.
- A fine art show at the community center from Thursday, August 1, to Saturday, August 3.
- A city breakfast starting at 6:45 a.m. followed by Highland games (9 a.m.), a grand parade (10 a.m.) that runs from Highland Elementary School (6000 W.) to Heritage Park (10400 N.), vendors, kids’ activities, and entertainment all at Heritage Park on Saturday, August 3.
- A Fireman’s spray (2 p.m.) and grand fireworks show (10 p.m.) at Mountain Ridge Junior High on Saturday, August 3.

Santaquin City
Orchard Days: July 28-August 4, 2019
From a good ol’ fashioned cherry pit spitting contest to petting zoos and fireworks, Santaquin’s Orchard Days combines the best of classic and modern celebrations that your family will love. Here are some highlights:
- A family fun night on Monday, July 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the rodeo grounds that includes a kid’s parade, petting zoo, pony rides, vendors, bouncy houses and other inflatables, games, and a movie (Coco) in the park.
- A women’s home run derby on Tuesday, July 31, at 8 p.m. and a men’s home run derby Wednesday, August 1, at 8 p.m.
- A hypnotist, the Hypno Hick, at Santaquin Elementary on Thursday, August 3, starting at 7 p.m.
- A performance by country band Fire Hawk on Friday, August 3, and Saturday, August 4, starting at 6:30 p.m. Immediately afterward the rodeo begins followed by fireworks.
- A grand parade starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, on Main Street running from 400 East to 200 West.
- A cherry pit spitting contest, car show, bouncy houses and other fun inflatables, vendors, music in the park, and horse shoe tournament running throughout the day Saturday, August 4.
