The Best Sledding and Tubing in Utah County
With the best snow on earth right in our backyards, there are many ways to enjoy Utah County’s great outdoors during the winter. And no matter where you live, there’s likely some prime sledding spots just around the corner from your house. So grab your mittens and some hot chocolate and enjoy these best places to tube and sled in Utah County.
Rock Canyon Park
Situated in a large grassy bowl, Rock Canyon Park has many sledding runs for you to choose from and is a great fit for families with kids of different ages. Situated at the foot of the mountains, Rock Canyon Park is the largest park in Provo and has plenty of room for large groups.

Peetneet Academy and Museum
The hills near Payson’s Peetneet Academy and Museum lend to some epic sledding and tubing. If you are going on a holiday or weekend, expect crowds, but enjoy the freshly packed snow that makes the sledding that much more of an adventure

Jolley’s Ranch
Jolley’s Ranch, located up Hobble Creek Canyon above Springville, is a great location for sledding and tubing. The beautiful scenery is sure to be a highlight for your day. Be sure to check Jolley’s Ranch Facebook page to see when winter activities are open.
Location: Drive up Hobble Creek Canyon until you hit a fork in the road. Take a right, and a mile further you will see signs for Jolley’s Ranch.
Tibble Fork Reservoir/Mutual Dell
For those who enjoy winter canyon drives, American Fork Canyon can provide many exciting sledding opportunities above Tibble Fork and around Mutual Dell. But keep in mind that none of these sledding routes are maintained, and they can become quite steep or icy. Be careful and have fun exploring new sledding runs.
Location: To reach Tibble Fork, drive up American Fork Canyon. When you reach the fork in the road, take a left. The reservoir is a few miles further. To reach Mutual Dell, take a right at the fork and drive several miles, watching for signs to Mutual Dell on the right side of the road.
Cherry Hill Elementary
Just south of Cherry Hill Elementary in Orem is a hill perfect for families with younger children. The hill is less crowded than nearby sledding locations but still offers a fun ride that parents and kids can enjoy.

Silver Lake Amphitheater
For a fun sledding route on the west side of Utah Lake, check out the Silver Lake Amphitheater in Eagle Mountain. The large bowl provides fast sledding routes, and it’s a popular place for families.

Soldier Hollow
Soldier Hollow ( close by ) boasts the largest tubing lanes in Utah, and it’s a great option for people who want to have the fun without doing the work—a rope will pull your tube to the top of the hill. But you’ll have to pay the price for the convenience. For a two-hour session, it costs children $23 and adults $25.
